We’re roughly a month away from the release of Lady Gaga’s new album, ARTPOP, and it’s finally here: the album cover. The highly-anticipated album is a big one, so of course Gaga called up one of the world’s biggest artists to create this magical cover.
Jeff Koons — who holds the record for the highest auctioned piece of art ever — created a sculpture of the pop star for her ARTPOP cover. That’s right. That’s a sculpture.

So yeah, this is impressive.
“One second I’m a Koons, then suddenly the Koons is me,” Gaga tweeted yesterday, referring to her hit single Applause, which references the artist. This sculpture will also be on display IRL at Gaga’s album release party.
The background of the cover also reveals a number of famous art works including Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus.
