So You Think You Can…Not Get Tickets

The Cast Of SYTYCD, Season 3
There’s a pool of froth foaming out of my mouth right now.
On the weekend Wendy casually mentioned to me that tickets for So You Think You Can Dance Season 3’s tour were either about to go on sale, or had just gone on sale. Panic ensued.
Allow me to provide some backstory:
During Season 2 of So You Think You Can Dance (which you can read about in alarming detail right here), adoration for Benji & Heidi reached such a fever pitch that Toronto’s Hummingbird Centre show sold out in a matter of SECONDS. We lined up at a shady Ticketmaster outlet in the middle of nowhere to try to beat the crowds and left empty handed. There was no way this was going to happen again this season. We HAD TO get tickets.
Last night I logged on to Ticketmaster and saw that the Toronto date (November 1) was going to be at Air Canada Centre and tickets were $35-55. Great! An upgrade of 13,000 seats compared with last year’s venue. There was no way it could possibly be sold out.
…
I couldn’t even buy ONE ticket. Completely sold out. Extreme anger building up.
Next stop, Craigslist. Tickets in the 200-levels selling for $120 apiece.
Grrr.
As an aside, does Lacey Schwimmer (hearts!) not look like a ‘hot’, less man-ish version of Lisa Marie Presley?!

VV, did you watch the results show? It was last night! Are you sad?
I hated how they showed them clearing out the audience in the lockdown situation - totally lame. Why bother? And why not just do the results show last Thursday as normal??

to kat: They had to clear the audience cause the show wasn’t going to air on the past thursday, also, so that the final four could have more time to prepare for the finale. There is going to be 9 routines by the 4 of them. if they kept the audience then there would have been spoilers telling who was eliminated so the producers wanted to be fair. just thought i’d let you know:)

Roxanne: Right - I get that they needed extra time to prepare and didn’t want the audience to know ahead of time. But isn’t the results show USUALLY live? Why didn’t they just air a LIVE results show last Thursday, like they normally do? It made no sense!

It wasn’t live because was pre-empted. a football or baseball game was on instead. sports events have top priority on FOX. It’s quite sad:)
