Something Glorious Is About To Happen

I think it was during “Positive Tension” at last night’s Bloc Party/Albert Hammond Jr. show @ Kool Haus that I realized it was ON – I turned around to look at Geoff and his face was just white with disbelief/euphoria at how amazing the crowd response was. And naturally during “Hunting For Witches” (my dead favourite off “A Weekend In The City”) people were losing their minds. We were right in the sh*t for most of the show – it was a frenetic dance party throughout. What a killer setlist!

And Russell…oh Russell! <3 With his shy good looks, carefree stance and complete mastery of killer solos, he's really primed to eclipse Jonny Greenwood as one of the coolest guitarists ever!

To hear what I mean about “Positive Tension”, watch this clip. The solo that starts at 2:07 is incredible – and then when the crowd carries the song at exactly 2:50 with “Why’d you have to get so f**king useless!?”, wowwwwww!

If there was any doubt before that Bloc Party are the sh*t, there isn’t any longer. Tickets outside the venue were going for over $100 each!!
