Two different music tastes, two different playlists of tunes! These aren’t necessarily ranked in order of our favourite songs of the year, but a mish mash of what we felt best represented 2009 for us.

Alberto: In 2009 Kings Of Leon finally rose to the top of charts, mirroring what they accomplished across the pond years ago. 2009 also saw the rise of a bunch of pop stars including Taylor Swift & Lady Gaga but this year also brought us a bunch of new artists – The XX, The Big Pink & Kid Cudi are just a few to name. Guilty Pleasure of the year: Ke$ha – Tik Tok [listen]

Wendy: I kinda flock towards party tracks/tracks that make me walk like a diva down the sidewalk/tracks with undeniable hooks/tracks that make me dance like a fool. At least two of these tunes would qualify for my list of top songs of the decade (Lisztomania and Dog Days Are Over); and because of songs on this list, I had a full-time sexeh party in my head. Except for the last two songs. The last two songs made me kind of sad. But hopeful. Whatever, just listen.
