Update: Emma Bunton has tweeted that the movie is not happening: “Guys I’m sorry but I DID NOT mention that we would be doing another film! But we r very excited about r musical in the theatre!”

Hey 80′s babies, the Spice Girls are back! Emma Bunton (aka Baby Spice) just revealed that the Spice Girls will reunite a second time, but this time for a sequel to their 1997 movie “Spice World” called “Viva Forever”.

Bunton told the UK’s Daily Mail “Now we’re all involved in the new Spice Girls film, which is being done by Judy Craymer and the team behind Mamma Mia! We email each other ideas and we are overjoyed it’s happening.” Judy Craymer is set to direct the “Spice World” sequel which will have a similar feel to “Mamma Mia!”

The musical numbers are expected to revisit the Spice Girls hit singles from the 90′s including “Wannabe” and “2 Become 1″ and according to Emma, all Spice Girls are on board. Emma also explained that the girls were set to make a sequel to “Spice World” almost immediately after the first film, but since Geri Halliwell left the band they couldn’t follow through with the second movie.

I loved the first “Spice World” movie! Are you going to see the sequel??
