Following up on the Iron Man 2 review we have a few film tid-bits while on the note of superheroes (basically dudes in ridonkulous spandex outfits that we probably all once tried to don unsuccessfully on Halloween).
Spider-Man Reboot: If you didn’t know already, the Spidey franchise is getting a whole new set of webs! According to The Hollywood Reporter, President of Columbia Pictures, Matt Tolmach, said that the next Spider-Man will be a total makeover and will have “Peter Parker told differently.”
And the new director? Well it’s none other than 34-year-old Marc Webb, who directed 500 Days of Summers). Webb’s expected to stray away from the visual elements of the last three films and focus more on Parker developing his new super-human web-slinging abilities in High School.
More Superhero goodness after the jump!
Nobody’s been cast yet, but Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief) has been rumored to be a potential candidate as the next Peter Parker in 2012.
New Thor Picture: The first screen-shot of Chris Hemsworth as the hammer-wielding thunder god Thor has been released on Yahoo Movies. Whadaya think?
In an interview with Access Hollywood, Hemsworth says that the film will stay true to the comics. “I have the hammer… I have a long blond wig and a nice big red cape and all sorts of armor and interesting bits and pieces…but it’s all very true to the original stuff.” The movie’s release date in May 6, 2011.
S.H.I.E.L.D Movie: Samuel L. Jackson, who signed a huge long term deal with Marvel Studios to play Nick Fury, has said that there will be a S.H.I.E.L.D. movie following The Avengers in 2012. “The Avengers should start shooting some time next year,” he said in an interview with Radio Big Boy, “and then some time after that there will be a big S.H.I.E.L.D. movie.”
So far Jackson’s been in two Marvel movies as Fury (Iron Man and Iron Man 2), but his deal is signed for up to nine flicks! It’s clear that he’s on a path to become the top Marvel Comics poster boy.Tweet
