Spoon Get Back At Bullies By Making Them Fans

July 31st, 2014

Spoon Kicks Off Tour At Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas

Be careful who you bully because they may grow up to be the lead singer of a super cool and popular rock band. Spoon’s Britt Daniels has never hid the fact that one of the songs from their 2002 album, Kill The Moonlight, was about his middle school bully Jonathan Fisk.

But on their new album he comes up again in their song, They Want My Soul. When Spoon came through Much, they told Liz that it was a little wave to let him know that they haven’t forgotten about him. But, Jonathan has since become a Spoon fan. “We never hung out but he would come to a lot of shows,” Daniels said. “I remember by the end of high school he was into The Cure and he was into Julian Cope. He was into some weird stuff. He came around to me.”

Check out the rest of the clip below. Spoon’s new album They Want My Soul comes out on August 5.
