He’s Chuck Bass. ‘Nuff said. But how much do you know about the man behind the Bass? Ed Westwick and Chuck have a lot in common: ambition, sex-appeal and the way he speaks….man-oh-man, I could listen to him talk for hours!
Before you get ready to get Bassed on with the season premiere of Gossip Girl @ 8PM ET on Monday September 26th, find out what Ed’s been up to all summer and what’s in store for the future of Bass Industries (PLUS a gallery of all the sexy suits Chuck Bass struts around in!)
For those of you who don’t know, the spoiled American aristocrat act of Ed Westwick is just that…an act. He’s a native of the Commonwealth, born in Hammersmith, London, England. And he’s got some serious roots there; it’s where he started acting AND where he started his own band (or former band anyways), The Filthy Youth.
As an adult, he’s chosen to focus more on his acting career and took a leave of absence from the band. Living in New York filming Gossip Girl, he’s expressed an interest in starting up another band in the Big Apple. Can’t wait for that to happen!
He kept himself busy with the premiere of his movie “Chalet Girl“, where he played a nice guy for a change (Chuck Bass started off mean…) and got to ski for free. The film also starred Felicity Jones and Sophia Bush.
Moving on to bigger and better projects, Ed will be chilling with some of Hollywood’s best in the upcoming movie “J. Edgar“. Directed by Clint Eastwood, the film boasts a cast with Leonardo Dicaprio, Armie Hammer, Naomi Watts and Judy Dench. The film follows the career of famed FBI agent J. Edgar Hoover, going as far as showcasing his rumoured homosexuality.
And we know Chuck Bass is no stranger to kissing guys. And speaking of the Bass, what did he get up to last season on Gossip Girl? Make sure you check out the gallery at the end!
Chuck Bass was livin’ life baby! After he and Blair decided they needed a break after the whole hotel fiasco, he devoted himself entirely to his company…and realized Lily was in negotiations to sell it. Betrayed, he teamed up with Serena to take his step-mother down only to realize Bass Industries was failing and needed to be sold off. Chuck and Serena’s antics kept all the good investors away and instead prompted a conniving businessman, Russell Thorpe, who has a grudge against the Basses and the Van der Woodsens, to make a bid for the company.
Chuck managed to take Russell down by revealing Russell accidentally killed his wife. But Chuck was also dating Russell’s daughter Raina and, after revealing this secret in a very public way, she breaks up with him. Russell makes one last attempt at revenge and tries to kill Blair Waldorf. But Chuck jumps to her rescue before letting her go and marry a Prince from France.
His company in tact, Chuck removes himself from Bass Industries to make his own future, and sets off with Nate on a summer long adventure around the world.Tweet
