Spotlight On…Hellcats!

Imagine being one of Memphis’ top felines – the ultimate extra-curricular activity for Lancer University. They’re hot, they’re flexible and they know how to scream! Yes, they’re cheerleaders! (what were you thinking?). The Hellcats were a squad notorious for winning competition after competition after competition. But notice the key word “were”. In the last few years their style’s been severely lacking in quality and excitement.

But this year things are going to change. Why? Because they have to for both the students and the team to continue! Check out more details on show HERE and don’t miss the series premiere this Friday @ 8PM ET!

The Squad

Meet Marti Perkins (Alyson Michalka): The new “IT” girl of the Hellcats squad. After her mother screws her over and she loses her scholarship she can’t afford to continue studying law at Lancer. But she has a new plan: compete with the Hellcats and earn an athletic scholarship. Sounds foolproof right?

Meet Vanessa Lodge (Sharon Leal): She’s the current coach of the Hellcats this year. A former Hellcat from her youth, it’s already uncomfortable at work with former boyfriend coach Raymond around but now she’s learned her job’s riding on whether the Hellcats can still win a championship competition.

Meet Savannah Monroe (Ashley Tisdale): She’s the current captain of the Hellcats. She wants to keep her authority and power over the squad but even after several blowouts with Marti, she’s convinced the new girl is the saviour the team needs.

Meet Alice Verdura (Heather Hemmens): She’s one of the flyers of the squad but has to sit out the new season (for now!) due to a wrist injury. It’s a good thing she still has her bitchy attitude to carry her or else her replacement Marti might actually feel welcome on the team.

Meet Lewis Flynn (Robbie Jones): He’s one of the bases of the Hellcats who also used to date Alice. After joining the squad on the dare he realizes he likes it and of course he’s also realizing he’s interested in Marti. I smell a catfight brewing with this guy reaping the benefits!

Meet Patty ‘The Wedge’ Wedgerman (Elena Esovolova): The lesbian cheerleader who’s the team’s base in more ways than one. She’s always there for the team and acts as their morale voice whenever things get bad.

The Rest

Meet Dan Patch (Matt Bar): The BFF of our heroine Marti. They’re just friends, or so she says, but really Dan’s been bitten by the love bug. If only he could tell her.

Meet Wanda Perkins (Gail O’Grady): The mother who lost her daughter’s scholarship. She works at a pub and never really outgrew her partying ways (embarrassing her daughter more than once growing up).

Meet Derrick Altman (D. B. Woodside): The team physician who would rather get his hands on Ms. Lodge.

Meet Red Raymond (Jeff Hephner): The football who would also rather get his hands on Ms. Lodge. Except he had his chance already – and blew it.
