Finale Friday 7E/4P
May 4th, 2010

Everyone, and I mean, everyone showed off their elegance on the red carpet last night (okay, Lady Gaga didn’t, but she was busy rehearsing/prepping for a performance).
The occasion was the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala Benefit in New York. The party was thrown by Oprah Winfrey, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and Gap creative director Patrick Robinson, running with the theme: the American woman.
There were plenty of those in attendance. Everyone from Taylor Swift, to Jessica Biel, to Kristen Stewart, to Blake Lively, to Gwen Stefani, to Katy Perry, and even quite a few guys were there, like Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams and Diddy.
It was Perry, though, who lit up the carpet, literally, with a gown covered in LED lights.
“I feel like I really have to represent those girls that just go for it and do their own thing and, you know, have their own bit of spontaneity and self confidence,” Perry said. “I think sometimes in fashion it can get a little stuffy so I wanted to lighten up!”
Check out photos from last night’s gala below.
