Summer Wrap: How was Justin Bieber’s summer? (Timeline)

Canada’s sweetheart Justin Bieber has had quite the busy summer. From a new album and performing at the recent MMVAs to legal troubles and even a guest spot on The Simpsons, there was never a dull moment in Bieber’s life. Here at Summer Wrap, we’re gonna go through the high and lowlights of Bieber’s sizzling summer.

June 11 – Justin pranks his manager, Scooter

Bieber is always busy working, but that doesn’t mean he can’t take some time off to pull a prank on his manager, Scooter Braun! Somehow hacking into Braun’s Twitter account, the pop star went on to Tweet: “hahaha. look who left their twitter open by mistake! priceless. I LOVE JUSTIN. He is the greatest. I wish i had more hair. PRANKED.” He didn’t stop there, though. He continued to Tweet, “i wet the bed…often.” Braun eventually got hold of his own account, though, and cleared the air on those Tweets, telling followers, “not cool. for my friends..that wasnt me. 18 year old kid snatched up my twitter. I apologize. Im back. I only wet the bed sometimes. and yes…revenge will be mine”

June 15 – Happy release day, Bieber!
On June 15, Justin released his new album Believe, which featured the hit single Boyfriend. The album debuted at number two on the Billboard charts, selling 521,000 digital units in its first week.

June 21 – Justin accidentally gives away his MMVA award to a fan

Justin’s performance at the MMVAs this year was one of the highlights of the evening as the star closed the night off with a rendition of Boyfriend and his newest single As Long As You Love Me. But another interesting thing happened that night – Bieber accidentally gave away his MMVA trophy to a fan! TMZ posted a video the day after the award show with footage of Bieber handing his award for UR Fave Artist to someone he thought was part of his crew. Instead, a fan nabbed the award, but thankfully, Bieber’s actual crew was able to get the award back. Phew!

July 13 – Mom sues Bieber over hearing damage (say what?)

A mom, who attended a Justin Bieber concert in 2010 with her daughter, sued the pop star for $9 million after the sound at the concert “created a wave-like effect of screaming” that led to her developing tinnitus. Oh, the crazy things people can sue celebs for.

July 18 – Go behind the scenes on Justin’s Rolling Stone shoot

Justin graced the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine yet again this summer and the magazine proclaimed him as “HOT, READY, LEGAL.” That he is! Take a look at some behind-the-scenes footage of his shoot below:

July 20 – Justin Tweets about another up-and-comer: is Madison Beer the next Carly Rae Jepsen?

We all know the story of Carly Rae Jepsen’s rise to fame by now: Bieber discovers Jepsen song, Bieber Tweets about it, people freak out and start listening to the song, Jepsen signs to Bieber’s label, becomes a huge star that we couldn’t walk down the street without hearing her song. Well, on July 20, Bieber was at it again, Tweeting about another kickass video he came across on YouTube. This time, it’s 13-year-old Madison Beer, who covers Etta James’ At Last. Although Beer hasn’t shot up to super stardom just yet, a push from Bieber is always a good thing. Watch Beer’s cover below:

July 27 – Bieber swears on a plane, gets yelled at for being rude

Justin got into some hot water last month on a plane ride back from the Down Under when the pop star was caught swearing on a plane by an angry mother of two. Surrounded by his entourage in first class, Bieber was told by a woman to quiet down for being too loud and cursing. He was told to “stop yelling curse words and using that kind of language on a plane. It’s not appropriate.” Sources say Bieber was really apologetic and embarrassed over the incident.

July 27 – Justin to team up with girlfriend Selena Gomez on her new album

It was announced on this day that Bieber will be writing and producing Selena Gomez’s new album. The couple will go into the studio together for the first time and work on Gomez’s album, which is slated to be released sometime in 2013. Black Eyed Peas’ frontman told New. Music. Live. that Bieber played him one of these tracks. “He was like, ‘Yeah, I wrote it for Selena. It’s great,” said will.i.am. “And it was really awesome. It was really, really dope.”

August 1 – Voila! A new video for As Long As You Love Me

After a teaser was released that same week, Bieber debuted his new video for As Long As You Love Me on August 1. The clip is an epic six-minute video that shows off Bieber’s acting chops as he falls for a girl, goes up against her disapproving father and ultimately gets beat up by him. August 8 – Bieber makes fun of Prince William’s hair, pisses off British fans

In a recent interview with Rollercoaster Magazine, the pop star took a jab at Prince William and his well-known receding hairline. In the piece, he says: “I mean, there are things to prevent that nowadays, like Propecia. I don’t know why he doesn’t just get those things, those products. You just take Propecia and your hair grows back. Have you not got it over here?” Ouch. Not only did that upset UK fans, but people in general are criticizing the star for being inconsiderate to the Prince.

August 22 – Justin Bieber to appear on The Simpsons!

Secret’s out: Bieber will be starring in an upcoming episode of The Simpsons! In a Tweet he posted recently, Bieber told fans, “just did a voice over for the SIMPSONS!!! #swaggy”. He later deleted the Tweet, but Simpsons execs confirmed his appearance and gives us a sneak peek at his storyline, saying, “He tries to get into a talent show that Bart is playing piano in and they won’t admit him.”
