In the summertime, why catch a band play in a boring regular venue when you can go to a giant outdoor festival, catch some rays, chug back a few refreshing drinks and watch them rock your non-existent socks off on a big festival stage? The past few months have seen its fair share of rockin’ music festivals so we here at Summer Wrap decided to look back at our top three summer fests!
Coachella
Coachella, one of the biggest music festivals in North America, returned this year bigger and better. Not only was the festival expanded to two weekends’ worth of camping, deserts and music, but they provided us with one of the biggest trends and conversation topics of the summer: holograms. Remember Hologram Tupac? We have Coachella to thank for that. We’d try and list all the bands that performed at Coachella, but that might take an entire weekend to tell you. Just watch this wicked Tupac clip below (warning: there is profanity in the video).

Lollapalooza
Chicago’s main event each summer is the famed Lollapalooza music festival and this year, their line-up didn’t disappoint. There was a little bit of something for everyone, from rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Black Keys to hip-hop stars J.Cole and Childish Gambino and even dance parties started by Justice and Calvin Harris. We definitely wish we could’ve been there!

Osheaga
MUCH dove into Osheaga head first this year and not only did we spend three whole days sweating it out and running from stage to stage catching bands, but we also reported the whole thing back to you guys on our Osheaga site! Florence and the Machine got us in the festival spirit, Sigur Ros delighted us with a gorgeous set and The Black Keys brought the metaphorical house down. We were clamouring for cold beverages all weekend, but we definitely left wanting more music! In fact, we kind of miss it now! And don’t worry, in between it all, we stopped for some poutine in la belle province.
