So it’s Black History Month 2012 and though it’s nothing new, it is in my opinion even more important now that we ALL celebrate. Black History Month is about learning and sharing lessons of the past. It’s not only about the stories of slavery it is also about recognizing those who fought for Black people to have rights and to be treated as any other human. We do not currently have any of this struggle represented in the history books used in schools, so it is up to you to do the research, learn and share your findings. Black people are involved in many great inventions that we ALL use today, fought in wars and built infrastructure in education and in architecture for many major cities. Today I want to share with you a an unauthorized biography of a woman that inspires me and I aspire to be a great T.V. personality – Oprah Winfrey.
