It Might Be Called The American Music Awards…

…but Canadians were in full swing last night! Justin Bieber, Drake, Marianas Trench, Nickelback and Alanis Morrisette were all on hand to bring some Canadian cred to the American awards show last night. Some of them dazzled the red carpet while others (okay, totally Bieber and Drake!) totally killed it on stage!

The 39th American Music Awards proved it was a girls night out with the biggest honours of the night going to Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj. Swift won Artist Of The Year, Best Country Album (for Speak Now) and Female Country Artist while Minaj picked up Favourite Hip Hop Artist and Best Hip Hop Album (for Pink Friday).

Adele picked up for Best Pop/Rock Female Artist and Best Pop/Rock Album for “21“. Katy Perry broke a record last night and received a special honour for boasting FIVE number one hits off her album “Teenage Dream“.

And then there were the performances. From Jennifer Lopez swinging on stage to Nicki Minaj‘s boom box booty, to boys dressing all in white (Chris Brown, the Biebs) it was all about putting on a show you’ll never forget!
