Canadian Talent + Half Decade = WIN!

In case you haven’t already noticed, MuchMusic LOVES Canadian bands. I too love Canadian bands. In fact, I truly believe that Canadian bands trump all American, Scottish (-FF), Aussie, and even El Salvadorian bands. I mean, we seriously have so much talent, whether it is recognized worldwide or not.
The point that I’m really getting at is… if you take (in my opinion) the five best Canadian albums of the past 5 years and compare them to some popular albums from the places listed (especially El Salvador), it is clear that we pwn those n00bs. To give you a tasteling of what I mean, I invite you to search up, listen to, and love the best five Canadian albums of the past five years! >:]

Billy Talent: Live In The Lot Photos!

Did you see that????
Did you see Ben/Ian/Jon/Aaron unleash a rager of a barnburner of a hootenanny on the rabid Thanksgiving crowd?
Did you see the SICK 360 camera we had set up on stage?!
Oh, man. Best Sunday in awhile. (Maybe since the MMVAs, huh? Huh? Huh?). Billy Talent tore through an hour of tunes, and even the chill in the air couldn’t stop Ben from getting sweaty or the crowd from going bananas. Of course BT busted out an army of favourites, from “Rusted From The Rain”, to “Devil In a Midnight Mass”, “Surrender”, “Fallen Leaves”, “Red Flag”, “Try Honesty”, “River Below” (pant, pant) and “Nothing To Lose”. If you missed it, plant your butt in front of ye olde telly tomorrow (Monday) at 5pm ET!

Billy Talent announces Canadian tour

Billy Talent have announced a Canadian tour in 2010.
The 19-date jaunt will begin in Victoria on March 3rd and head across the country until they end up in Toronto to play their final date on March 28th.
However, before that and even before they head over to Europe for a full tour, the band will rock MuchMusic’s parking lot.

Billy Talent: Live In The Lot on Sunday!

Only a few more days til Ben and the boyeeees rampage our parking lot on October 11! The stage is growing, hype is building and we’re storing wax in our ears for extra noise protection.
We gave away wristbands on Friday, but stay tuned because we may have more up our sleeves!
If you haven’t heard, fans with Rogers phones will be able to personalize the set list by nominating three songs on their cells! And also, we’ve got this amaaaaaazing 360 degree camera set up in the parking lot, so those of y’all at home can catch a full view of what’s going down during the show. (Catch it on MuchMusic.com of course).
Tune in to Much on October 11 at 8pm ET for a little musical dessert after you’ve had your fill of turkey!!

Virgin Fest Alberta Announced
Tuesday, June 30th, 2009Virgin Fest just announced the lineup for their Alberta stop this summer. The festival will take place August 8 & 9 at Canada Olympic Park.
Saturday August 8th sees grunge rockers Pearl Jam headline the night. Other acts playing the Saturday are k-os, Thunderheist, Arkells, Mother Mother & The Cliks.
Sunday August 9th sees Canadian rockers Billy Talent, Metric & Tokyo Police Club play followed by White Lies & Shout Out Out Out Out.
Tickets for Vfest Alberta go on sale on Saturday July 4 @ 10am.
Let me know what you think of the lineup and if you plan to attend the weekend festival (of course that’s if you live in Alberta or are willing to travel)
