Celebrate Black History Month with music to move you

February 1st, 2011

February is Black History Month, an important and special time on the calendar for all people of African descent because it is a time to reflect upon where we have been as a collective and where we are going in the future. It’s a time to remember all of the pioneers who led the way for Black people to be judged as first class citizens worldwide and a time to celebrate our achievements in all realms of society from politics to sports to entertainment and everything in between. For us here at MuchMusic Black History Month is a time for us to recognize artist and songs which raised awareness of the Black struggle over time.
