I totally squeeed when I saw that headline too. Sadly, I have to disappoint us all.

Sarah Michelle Gellar is beginning filming in New York for her potential new TV show The Wonderful Maladys, according to this website which has a ton more pictures, including one where you can make out page 1 of the script.

But don’t get too excited. The show hasn’t been picked up yet, although if it is, SMG herself is gonna be an executive producer. Which could be a good thing. Then again, according to IMDB.com, the show’s premise currently “revolves around the dysfunctional lives of three adult siblings who lost their parents at a young age”. BORING, and also nothing we haven’t seen before.

Man, ever since Angel ran off to Bones, and Xander had like a five-episode stint (okay, six episodes) as a huge nerd (surprise) on Criminal Minds, there’s just been so little hope for some sort of Buffy movie/spin-off/revival.

Now we’ve gotta try and make do with Dollhouse (which I hear is getting a lot better), or re-watch Repo! The Genetic Opera a hundred times to see Anthony Stewart Head eviscerate people. Which was actually kinda creepy. And then in that part when he head-butted the guy in the fight, whoa, I was all: “Nooooo Giles! Your head is soft and squishy and you pass out really easily!”.

… But yeah. Back on topic. Would you watch this new show of SMG’s? Or will she always be Buffy to you?
