Lil’ Wayne’s new rock album will finally hit stores next month after many delays. Rebirth was originally supposed to be released May 19th, but got pushed back several times. The new release day - for now - is December 15th.

The rapper can be heard playing his guitar on 80 percent of it. Some of the expected guests include Travis Barker, members of Fall Out Boy and Lenny Kravitz.

My Date With… Fall Out Boy

Friday, October 9th, 2009

100209-fob-date

Monica was our lucky winner to spend a day in Toronto with Fall Out Boy! Watch le date go down tonight at 6:30pm ET, and for now read what she has to say about the experience!

May 5th, 2009. That was the day I got to meet Fall Out Boy. It was also the day I got to experience something that is just so surreal to most people - meeting your idols. From shopping to going up the CN Tower to the concert, it was an amazing experience that I’ll never forget. But it took a while to get there.

Pete Wentz “kills emo” with new haircut

Monday, October 5th, 2009

pete

Saturday night marked the “death of the emo haircut.” On stage at Madison Square Garden in New York, Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz marked the occasion by letting Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus shave his head.

While Fall Out Boy performed, Wentz sat down in a chair while Hoppus took his clippers and emancipated Mr. Ashlee Simpson of his swooping bangs.

Of course, the crowd ate it up and of course, someone caught it on video and posted it to YouTube. Watch it here.

Patrick Stump Arrested

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

082609-patrick-news

Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump was arrested Monday night. And it wasn’t pretty.

Apparently the singer had a warrant out for his arrest after he was previously pulled over for driving without a license.

Well, on Monday at midnight the cops nabbed Stump and hauled him in. He was released from West Hollywood Sheriff’s station at 4:30 am on $15,000 bail.

We all know Fall Out Boy aren’t the criminal types, but driving without your license? That’s not very rock’n'roll!

Become Taylor Swift with Band Hero

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

Do you wish you could be Taylor Swift? Well, now you can… sort of.

The makers of Guitar Hero have come up with a new game called Band Hero, which not only allows you to jam to songs with all of your friends, but also do it as Taylor Swift!

Okay, so it sounds just like Rock Band, we know, but judging by an informative “making of” video, Taylor had to put on a funny suit and act out her rock star moves to become a video game avatar.

Though it isn’t out until November, Band Hero will also let you become Maroon 5, No Doubt, Fall Out Boy and Jesse McCartney!

Just announced: Blink-182 will play a second show in Toronto @ The Molson Amphitheatre August 8th!

Last Friday tickets went on sale for their August 23rd date and sold out in less than an hour. This is perfect for all Blink-182 fans who were unlucky at getting tickets. What’s better is if you’re a fan of Fall Out Boy, FOB will be accompanying Blink-182 on this stop of their tour.

Tickets for the August 8th show will go on sale Friday, June 12 @ Noon!

Weezer To Join Blink-182 In Toronto

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Last week I told you about Blink-182 announcing their tour dates and also told you that they will have different opening acts through out the tour but it wasn’t confirmed yet. Well it looks like that has all changed! Weezer will be joining Blink-182 on their Toronto stop of their summer tour along with Chester French this summer.

Unfortunately it looks like Weezer will only be stopping in Canada once, where Chester French will be playing all the Canadian dates. Vancouver will see The All-American Rejects join Blink-182 & Chester French. Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon & Winnipeg will be entertained by Fall Out Boy, The All-American Rejects & Blink-182. Quebec City & Montreal will see Chester French, Fall Out Boy & Blink-182.

There is no word as of yet when tickets are going on sale or for how much so stay tuned! So now that you know who is opening and where, does this affect your decision on going or not? Let me know!

Blink-182 Announce Tour Dates

Friday, May 15th, 2009

Blink-182 - Image Courtesy of www.blink182.com

Yesterday I wrote about how Weezer, Blink-182 & Fall Out Boy were set to tour this summer and today Blink-182 announced tour dates for their summer tour. I mentioned how they could play VFest but that is now out of the question as the punk rockers will be playing the Molson Amphitheatre August 23. The recently re-united trio will hit a total of 8 Canadian cities including Toronto.

Since all three bands were mentioned together I assumed that they would be playing together but after reading an article on Billboard.com it seems like Blink will have different opening bands on certain legs of the tour. In addition to the Weezer and Fall Out Boy mentions as openers Panic At The Disco, All-American Rejects, Taking Back Sunday, Asher Roth and Chester French have been added to the list of possible openers.

Nothing against any of the bands listed but I personally would not attend the Toronto show unless Weezer are on the bill. They haven’t released who will be their opening act on any of the days so here is my question to you. Who would you want to see as the opening band in the city you live in that they are playing at?

Here are the full Canadian dates:
July 28 - GM Place, Vancouver BC
July 30 - Saddledome, Calgary AB
July 31 - Rexall Place, Edmonton AB
August 1 - Credit Union Center, Saskatoon SK
August 2 - MTS Centre, Winnipeg MB
August 7 - Colisee Pepsi, Quebec City QC
August 8 - Bell Centre, Montreal QC
August 23 - Molson Amphitheatre, Toronto ON

Weezer, Blink-182 & FOB To Tour This Summer!

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

So it seems that three generations of rock/pop/punk will be able to rock out under one roof this summer as Weezer, Blink-182 & Fall Out Boy are set to tour together this summer. According to Pitchfork.com (which got its news from Rolling Stone) the three mega bands are set to start a summer tour starting July 24.

It has also popped up on Mark Hoppusblog so it has to be true. No dates have been released yet but it got me thinking. VFest hasn’t released the Toronto set list yet, could this trio possibly use VFest as their Toronto stop for their tour? If not it could make for a good show to see either at the ACC or at the Molson Amphitheatre.

Personally I’m not too excited about this news because of the Fall Out Boy mention. I mean they are good for whoever likes them but I don’t want to attend a concert that will be packed with a bunch of screaming teens.

The relationship between Tom DeLonge and Weezer must be good since Weezer had Tom’s band Angels and Airwaves open for them back in October on their recent tour. What are your thoughts on this? Could they be part of VFest or will they play the ACC or the Molson Amphitheatre? Will you go?

MOD Pics Of Le Week

Dunno if you noticed, but we had a few notable notables here at Much HQ this week. Of note:

* Ten Second Epic performed on Monday. They were here exactly one year ago to the day! (Watch the interview and performance)
* Fall Out Boy dropped in on Tuesday and Pete Wentz smashed a mirror in an attempt to end his superstition. No updates to whether or not it worked. (Watch the interview)
* Rick Ross was here yesterday, and apparently he walked out on his MuchNews interview. You can see what the funk was up with that in an upcoming MuchNewsWeekly.

And now, some photos from the week!
