Spring Break Video Challenge!

Hey all of you confident, exhibitionist MOD fans! Do you remember our video challenge from the start of this year? Well we want you to belt out a tune and shake your tail feather for us once again in our Spring Break video challenge. If you are like any of the MOD team, you sing and dance to Ke$ha and Bieber at home with your friends anyways so why not put it out to the world?
It is simple. First, pick either Justin Bieber’s “Baby” or Ke$ha’s “Blah, Blah, Blah” (or a Glee style mash-up perhaps) to perform. Next, learn the words, put together a great routine and film yourself doing it. Lastly, post the video on YouTube and drop a link in the comments section below.
What will you get out of this? All spring break week, we’ll play the best ones on MOD. Yes, that is next week!

What girl got to kiss Justin Bieber?

Now before everyone starts sending me threatening emails and ripping up their J Biebs posters, fear not. The girl that recently got to kiss Justin Bieber is Jasmine V., Justin’s co-star in his music video for Baby. The kiss was actually a part of the video that was cut before it aired.
Did you know that Jasmine V., like Justin, is also a rising singer and has even performed for boxer Manny Pacquio at his matches (go Pac Man!). Jasmine V. is releasing her first album this year and has already gained some fame by appearing in That’s So Raven, My Wife and Kids, and in Kanye West’s music video for Jesus Walks.
And all those rumours about Jasmine and Justin dating? “We’re not dating. We’re just really cool friends” says Jasmine. Everyone together now - WHEW!

This morning we spilled the beans about Justin Bieber’s collabo with Sean Kingston, but now you can hear it for yo’self! (If you haven’t snooped it already, you clever beast, you).
Apparently this won’t be the last time these studs work together - so what do you think of the first go ’round? Seems like a natural fit - two teenagers, sangin’ about young love; and if you ask me (even if you don’t), I say that J-Beebs’ “Love Me” has a bit of a Sean Kingston bounce to it. ANYHOODS…

Justin Bieber and Sean Kingston collaborate

Sean Kingston has uploaded a track to his MySpace that features none other that Canadian pop sensation Justin Bieber! Apparently, Kingston and Bieber are good friends and this is only the first of several collaborations to come. Kingston said he’s like a big brother to Bieber, and that they’ll be starting a song-writing team together.
The track is called “Eenie Meenie” and is expected to be on Kingston’s new album as well as Bieber’s upcoming “My World 2.0” out March 23rd.

Juno nominees announced!

The 2010 Juno Awards nominees and some of the performers were announced this morning.
Performing at the awards will be Drake, Justin Bieber, Billy Talent, Metric and Michael Bublé, with more names to be revealed leading up the ceremony on April 18th.

Mehek’s Music Monday: Alyssa Bernal

It seems that discovering new talent using technology and the internet is the coolest trend since celebrities and their accessorized babies. You never know who, out of the thousands and thousands of videos you watch, will be the next to pop up on your television or the radio.
I had a similar experience with this new artist back in early 2009, when I was browsing YouTube looking for something new, something fresh. As I’m sure many were with artists like Esmee Denters and Justin Bieber, I was with Alyssa Bernal: thoroughly impressed.
