Best Tweeters of 2011!

Greetings! Sarah here, although you probably know me better as “@MuchMusic.”

My favourite part about running the MuchMusic Twitter account is watching our shows along with you (shout outs to the #PLLCrew and the #Degrassians!) and getting to hook people up with concert tickets and other amazing swag. But from an industry perspective, it’s amazing to see the different ways that celebrities use Twitter. For some, it’s nothing more than an impersonal promotional tool run by their managers. For others, it’s a fascinating peek behind the curtain that usually divides the private and public life of those in the spotlight.

‘Tis the season for year-end lists and 2011 was truly the year of Twitter. So in no particular order, here is a look at the year’s best tweeters. Or is it tweeps? Twitterers? Tweople? Tweeties? Have we decided what this word is yet? Anyways. Moving on. It should be noted that this is not a list of who simply has the most followers; it’s a list of stars who are using Twitter in awesome ways. Quality over quantity.

Ke$ha’s Ready To Make You Look Sick & Sexified!

All Time Low talk Weezer, Dirty Work and blowing their Ke$ha budget

We caught up with All Time Low during the Canadian leg of their tour in promotion of the Maryland band’s latest offering, Dirty Business. We chatted with the guys about other big names from Maryland, working with Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo, and why they named dropped Ke$ha in their single I Feel Like Dancin’ and then impersonated every pop singer but the woman in glitter herself. I think it’s because cotton candy tastes better than Jack Daniels, but that’s just me.
