Kings of Leon members fight over songwriting

It appears there is some friction in Kings of Leon. Bassist Jared Followill has come out stating that “If I wasn’t involved, I can’t imagine liking us a lot.”

The complaints come with the news that older brother Caleb has assumed control of writing the band’s next album. It’s reached a point where Jared and the other band members have had to force their way into the songwriting process.

Cousin Matthew, who plays guitar in the band, added, “We basically go over to Caleb’s house for the royalties.”

That doesn’t sound very promising…

Swift, MJ lead American Music Awards noms

When the American Music Awards nominations were announced today, it was Taylor Swift who walked away with the most.

The budding country star and best-selling artist of 2008 led the pack with six, followed closely by the late Michael Jackson, who posthumously earned five nods.

The two stars will go head to head for the highly coveted Artist of the Year award, along with fellow nominees Lady Gaga, Kings of Leon and Eminem, who all earned three nominations each. Beyonce and T.I. were also triple nominees.

The good news for Taylor Swift is that Kanye West was shut out, meaning he likely won’t be there to interrupt another one of her acceptance speeches.

The American Music Awards will air on ABC at 8 pm ET on November 22nd.

Kings of Leon @ Copps Colliseum

The following is either an account of why the guys from Kings of Leon would make great boyfriends, or a review of their show from Saturday night.

Let it be known that even though non-TTC travel was required to make it to this show, many people who, like me, didn’t get their Kings fix when they played Toronto back in May braved the trek down to Hamiltonia and packed Copps Colliseum almost (but not quite) to capacity to watch Nathan, Jared, Matthew, and Caleb Followill capture the hearts of the whole wide room. Kings Of Leon Set To Be Remixed

Kings of Leon have been around for a good couple of years now and have only recently hit the big rockstar status (in North America at least). With the success of last years ‘Only By The Night’, the arena rockers have made a name for themselves and it seems like everybody wants something to do with KOL.

There have been a number of artists who have remixed or covered Kings Of Leon songs and they have now announced that a remix album is in the works. Names such as Justin Timberlake, Pharrell of N.E.R.D., Mark Ronson, Kenna, Linkin Park and Lykke Li have all been mentioned to want in on the remixing of classic rock songs.

R.Patz & K-Stew check out Kings of Leon in Vancouver

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart went to a Kings of Leon concert together in Vancouver Saturday night.

The pair quickly dashed out of their car into the venue under the supervision of a very serious looking man in green pants.

Photos surfaced online of the duo looking rather snuggly during the concert, though no actual pic of them kissing was captured.

Date or no date? Discuss amongst yourselves.

The Twilight stars are currently shooting the third movie in the series titled Eclipse in Vancouver.

* Ex-O.C cutie Misha Barton is still hospitalized, and missing the premiere of her new flick, The Homecoming. Maybe she got sick of appearing in movies nobody saw since leaving television…

* Rumour has it that Rihanna will be joined by All-American Rejects vocalist Tyson Ritter on her upcoming Rated R album. That’s probably just as weird as Keane working with Kanye West.

* OH NOES! LeVar Burton, host of everyone’s favourite Reading Rainbow (I know I liked it), was in a car accident! Don’t worry guys, he’s gonna be okay!

* Broken Social Scene are gonna be in a movie! This Movie is Broken doesn’t follow the band directly, but seems like it has definite win potential anyway.
