Speaking like a true fashionista, I realize that the clothing industry definitely leaves a major carbon footprint. I have come up with some ways you can reduce your fashionable footprint, including my tour of the new H&M eco collection, under the jump!

Liz Goes Green: Musicians

October 7th, 2011

I’ll admit, it’s difficult to live the eco-lifestyle on a day to day basis. But what if your home was a traveling van or bus, your food was always take-out and you lived off the plastic water bottles on your music rider? Unfortunately, this is the reality for many touring musicians and while it is a challenge to decrease your carbon footprint on tour, many musicians have found a way to do so.

Liz Goes Green at Lollapalooza and Warped Tour

October 3rd, 2011

Ever since I was a bright eyed eight year old in Girl Guides earning my Eco-Friendly badge, I have tried my hardest to remain environmentally conscious of my carbon footprint. It’s no secret that living in 2011, you use quite a bit of energy. From your laptop, to your TV, to your straightening iron in the morning, it’s near impossible to cut it all off. In recent months I have realized this, but I can reduce my personal damage on our environment by being conscious of my daily energy usage. I have been inspired by many people, companies and musicians who have been doing their part to help save our environment. With this, I am taking the next six weeks to dedicate Liz Online to “Liz Goes Green” which will cover stories, artists, companies who are going green along with ways you can help reduce your carbon footprint.

The Music, The Stories & The Rain: Check Out Liz Does Lollapalooza!

August 26th, 2011

Our very own bold and brave Liz Trinnear enjoyed the sun and soaked up the rain at one of the biggest annual music fests ever, Lollapalooza! But we didn’t just send her there for a sweet week of vacay…she packed a mini-camera crew and got all the goods from the likes of Cults, Lissie, The [...]

Liz Does Lolla: Liz literally Goes Outside with Cults

August 22nd, 2011

It’s all about Cults this year and I can understand why. The long haired duo from Manhattan, New York have a catchy indie-pop, lo-fi sound that hooks you in from the first note. Their debut album is a front to back listen and did I mention they are the sweetest couple ever? We were rushed for time, but none the less it was delightful to catch up with them!

Liz Does Lolla: Lissie + Liz = Lolla BFFs

Liz Does Lolla: Lissie + Liz = Lolla BFFs

August 21st, 2011

This was not my first interview with Lissie and it will not be my last. In my opinion she is one of the most talented singer/songwriters of our time, not to mention extremely humble and down to earth. Lissie has a sense of empowerment when on stage, owning her craft while allowing her audience to [...]

Liz Does Lolla: The Chain Gang of 1974

August 20th, 2011

The first time I saw The Chain Gang of 1974 live, I was hooked. Last New Year’s Eve they opened for Crystal Castles in Boulder, Colorado and in my opinion, stole the show. Kamtin Mohager really built a sound for himself, something fresh, with a reflection of the past but also looking into the future. His haunting vocals remind me of a blend between Matt Berninger of The National, Robert Smith of The Cure and Dan Whitford of Cut Copy (all voices I need in my life). TCGO1974 is one of the most buzzed about bands of 2011 and they deserve all of the buzz they can get. Go get their album Wayward Fire now on iTunes! You won’t regret it.
