More MJ rehearsal footage leaks

Some leaked footage from MJ’s upcoming film This is It shows a very thin MJ practising his hit “Human Nature.”

The movie features MJ’s rehearsal footage leading up to his O2 Arena concerts which were cancelled due to his untimely death in June.
Michael Jackson’s This is It will hit theatres on 28th for a limited two-week run.

New Jackson Wax Figure

A new wax figure of Michael Jackson was unveiled at Madame Tussauds in L.A. Valued at $300,000, the figure was introduced by a Jackson impersonator. The statue arrived just two days before MJ would have turned 51. Speaking of the late King of Pop, don’t forget to check out Much’s airing of Michael Jackson: Live In Bucharest, this Saturday at 9pm ET.

Michael Jackson to be buried on birthday?
Monday, August 17th, 2009Michael Jackson’s dad Joe Jackson claims his son’s body has not yet been buried but will laid to rest on his birthday, which would have been August 29th.
According to the New York Daily News, Joe says that Michael will be buried at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, where the original family memorial was held.
It’s been said that some of MJ’s siblings reportedly wanted him to be buried at Neverland Ranch.

* New CD news to go crazy about: Modest Mouse’s new album No One’s First and You’re Next! is hitting the stores August 4th (and August 18th on vinyl), and Matthew Good’s fourth solo work, Vancouver, will be around October 5th. Woo!
* And if you aren’t already tired of news about Michael Jackson’s death, then know that police have subpoenaed his nurse (he had a nurse?), and raided the office of his doctor looking for evidence of manslaughter. Talk about being sick to death of something!

* News about Miley Cyrus‘ next movie: she’s going to be playing a fairy. Ummmm… riiiiiiight….
* Announced movie sequels I’m struggling to care about: Bridget Jones III, where the title lady is preggers, and Scream IV, where, well, there will be screaming.
* And now, a list of dudes who think they can make it on their own: Julian Casablancas of the Strokes announces a solo album, as does Alec Ounsworth from Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, and in more tragic news, Mattie Safer leaves the Rapture. Going solo: all the cool kids are doing it!
* Dudes, the LAPD are now considering Michael Jackson’s death a homicide, ie: somebody KILLED him. Craziness! I wonder whodunnit…

Never Can Say Goodbye.
Tuesday, July 7th, 2009A lot has been said about Michael Jackson since he passed away on June 25th, 2009. Reporters, friends, pop culture junkies, music historians, even myself… we’ve all waxed poetic about the man, his music and the legacy he leaves behind.
But of all the countless words that have been said and will continue to be spoken about MJ for the months/years/DECADES to come, this is perhaps the most touching and honest of them all: (watch)
In that one moment, Paris Jackson humanized her father in a way that no one ever has. Raw emotion, straight from the heart, from someone who knew him NOT as a superstar…or an icon…or a tabloid “freak”. For this little girl, he was simply “Daddy” - and the pain on her face and in her voice was simply heartbreaking.
Today we laid to rest the greatest entertainer of a generation, possibly of all time. Michael Jackson stands right alongside Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and The Beatles as a man who changed music, pop culture and the world FOREVER.
For me, Michael Jackson was my musical hero - and the single biggest reason why I ever wanted to study and write about music, or work in music television. My greatest MJ memories are wrapped up in a series of “firsts” - the first album I ever owned (Thriller), the first video I ever saw (Billie Jean), and the first concert I ever went to (The Victory Tour in 1984). His music is quite literally the soundtrack of my life, and all I can do as a fan is be grateful that I was alive to witness and appreciate his greatness.
Magic never dies.

Monday, July 6th, 2009Tomorrow the world will pay tribute to Michael Jackson as the official memorial ceremony takes place from the Staples Centre in Los Angeles. MuchMusic and MuchMoreMusic will bring you complete coverage of the event, and you can take part by sending us your comments on Twitter or coming down to Much HQ to share your MJ experiences with us.
12pm-1pm ET: We chat with fans on the street and share our favourite MJ videos and edits.
1pm-3pm ET: Michael Jackson memorial live from Los Angeles, commercial free.
3pm-4pm ET: More chat with fans on the street as well as MJ videos and edits.
If you can’t watch it the first time around, we’ll be re-airing the whole thing on Much and Muchmore at 8pm ET and again on MuchMore at 11pm ET.
