As if I needed another reason to have Mindy Kaling as a personal hero.

She just shot a music video for Kelly Kapoor’s new girl group Subtle Sexuality (for The Office’s new web series) - and it’s an OBVIOUS future #1 single. Even better though is the website dedicated to the group, complete with photos, fan club, world tour dates (currently listed: 4 open mic nights in Pennsylvania) and of course, the video. Also: an amazing bio that says they’re inspired by “J. Hud, Rihanna, Katy Perry and all the Kardashians.” I AM SO IN LOVE WITH THIS GROUP.

Yes! I love comedy victories and also things that are awesome. Mindy Kaling, who plays Kelly Kapoor on The Office, just inked a development deal with NBC to write and star in her own show. No exact plot or casting or anything has been hatched/announced, but I’m pretty confident that something good will come out of this. After all, her old blog (I say “old” because she hasn’t updated it in a YEAR, and my tears have long run dry) is constantly hilarious (not to mention her effortless timing on The Office). She just Twittered: “My show will likely be an Indian-American girl discovering Nazi war criminals and also Mr. Right? … I’d also be into any show where I could play a zombie. Who is looking for Mr. Right?”

It’s no secret that I’m a massive women-of-comedy fangirl, so as Mindy starts to follow in Tina Fey’s footsteps I can’t help but be excited. Stoked to see how this progresses!
