The Child of Lov “Give Me” (Video)

January 8th, 2013

With all the anonymity going on in music, I’ve come to accept and even appreciate it when I can’t know anything about an artist. The latest question mark comes from the state of Georgia with an artist named The Child of Lov. Though he is now a world traveler, the Child has placed the video [...]

Heartsrevolution “Not That Hard To Explain” (Video)

November 7th, 2012

Feels like ages since I last heard the name Heartsrevolution, whose 2007 single “CYOA!” was a favourite of mine that year. Now the anarchic dance pop duo are back with a new single/video called “Not That Hard To Explain.” And yes, that is a sample of the Strokes’ “Hard To Explain” in there. About the [...]

Das Racist “Girl” (Video)

October 30th, 2012

In the new Das Racist video, a mulletted protagonist tries to win the heart of a hunny he fancies. He’s a lover, a fighter and the greatest dancer. Starring in “Girl” is nice and all, but someone get this guy his own variety show. Blood Diamonds, who we last heard doing “Phone Sex” with Grimes, [...]

The Antlers “Drift Dive” (Video)

The Antlers “Drift Dive” (Video)

October 30th, 2012

Brooklyn band The Antlers released a water-themed EP this past July titled Undersea, so a video featuring artistic shots from beneath the ocean makes complete sense. And that’s what they’ve done for the song “Drift Dive.” Seems harmless enough, but considering the mess that Sandy has made in their backyard, the band felt it necessary [...]

Neighbors “New Century” (Video)

October 30th, 2012

Sadly, Brooklyn indie band Neighbors did not release their new Halloween-themed video for “New Century” earlier this month, and so it failed to make our Halloween-themed episode of The Wedge. But check out the band members sporting costumes of classic monster movie characters. It’s hardly original, but it’s always fun to see people sprayed with [...]

Titus Andronicus “In A Big City” (Video)

October 26th, 2012

In the video for Titus Andronicus’s new single “In A Big City,” frontman Patrick Stickles gives a nod to Falling Down and abandons his career to relieve some frustration, sans briefcase, of course. Really, it’s just Stickles enjoying what Jersey has to offer, staring out at the Hudson River and realizing he’s living the good [...]

M83 “Steve McQueen” (Video)

October 25th, 2012

For the third video from last year’s Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming, M83 teamed up with Genero.tv to hold a contest where fans could make their own. They were given “complete creative freedom” and asked “to interpret the song” themselves. The winners – Balthazar Auxietre and Sylvain Derosne – received £3,000 and having the distinction of [...]

Nude Beach “Some Kinda Love” (Video)

October 25th, 2012

The Best Show on WFMU‘s Tom Scharpling has given the world amazing music videos by The New Pornographers (“Moves”), Ted Leo/Pharmacists (“Bottled in Cork”), and Real Estate (“Easy”), to name a few. For his latest, he teamed up with Brooklyn’s Nude Beach for a video that plays out like a visual onesheet, providing commentary about [...]
