Take a listen to Liam Titcomb’s new album CICADA on First Spin now!

CICADA was an album born out of the ashes of a failed relationship singer-songwriter Liam Titcomb went through. After said breakup, the Toronto-based musician upped and left for London to take some time off, and incidentally, to write a new record; his first in five years.

What came out was a beautiful collection of songs that reflect a broken heart but also a hidden sense of optimism hiding underneath each tune. CICADA is filled with jangly folk-pop melodies that reveal a new layer with each listen and what shines through each time is Titcomb’s emotional yet strong voice that’s raspy and have clearly been dragged through a battlefield of love, but is also filled with a new sense of energy and spirit that carries throughout the album. John Mayer better watch out as Liam Titcomb is clearly poised to take over the throne of guitar-driven pop melodies.
