Taylor Swift stopped by the BBC Radio 1 recently and covered a slowed-down version of Brit folk rockers’ Mumford and Sons song White Blank Page off their Grammy winning debut album Sigh No More.
The song is a perfect fit for Swift, with its lyrics of heartbreak and lost love, a topic that Swift has used to become the biggest entertainer in the world. Backed by her own band, including guitars, violins and back up singers, Swift shows off her strength in interpreting and emoting the work of others in music.
While Swift has been criticized in the past for her sometimes spotty and off-key vocals during live performances, White Blank Page may be one of Swifts best recorded performances ever.
