Taylor Swift leads in many ways at the ACM Awards

Taylor Swift may be the second female to win the coveted title of Entertainer of the Year two years running at the Academy of Country Music Awards this weekend, but she’s comes in first for Kevin McGuire, a high school football player who is battling leukemia. McGuire was supposed to be Taylor’s date for the awards show. but unfortunately could not make it due to a virus. Despite having to go stag, Swift shone as she accepted the award and gave McGuire a shout out during her acceptance speech.

Swift also was honoured this weekend at the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards by the first lady, Michelle Obama, who presented Taylor with The Big Help Award for her philanthropic work with various charities such as the Red Cross, UNICEF, and Children in Need. T. Swift may be known for the teardrops on her guitar, but we can assure her that she’s also known for being a Fearless leader.
