The Oscars are this weekend, a night when awards are given out to some of the best in cinema. It’s also a night when some of your faves get robbed, but what can you do? The A-list of Hollywood will be on the red carpet in full force, but it’s nice to remember that before all the accolades and perks, they paid their dues. Let’s have a look at the first roles some of 2014 Oscar nominees.
Jennifer Lawrence, nominated for American Hustle, appeared on a promo for MTV’s My Super Sweet 16 at age 14.
Before he became the homeless kid who stole our hearts on Growing Pains, Leonardo DiCaprio, nominated for The Wolf Of Wall Street, appeared on an episode of Roseanne in 1991.
Before playing an American Psycho, Batman, and a con artist in American Hustle, a 12 year-old Christina Bale played Alexei in Anastasia: Mystery of Ana.
Twelve Years A Slave actor Chiwetel Ejiofor was chosen by Steven Spielburg at age 19 to take on a role in Spielburg’s 1997 film Amistad.
Jared Leto may be referred to as an Oscar winner after Sunday’s telecast, but he’ll always be My So Called Life’s Jordan Catalano to us.
American Hustle’s Amy Adams got her start on the big screen as a ditzy but kind cheerleader in the dark comedy Drop Dead Gorgeous back in 1999.
Before director David O. Russell received a best director nomination for American Hustle, he directed cult classic I Heart Huckabees and cast a then 21-year-old Jonah Hill in one of his first roles.
I don’t know how he does it, but Matthew McConaughey actually looks younger now than he did in 1993′s stoner comedy Dazed and Confused.Tweet
