Tonight’s summer finale of Teen Wolf was everything we could have hoped it would be. We got our answers and we got tons to look forward to when Teen Wolf comes back after a short break. You ready to tear in the summer finale with me? Let’s do this!
After being put under Scott, Allison, and Stiles find themselves in The Matrix. … Or something like that. They each find a connection to the Nematon and thereby figure out the location of their parents.
After coming to, the three of them burst out of their water tombs and jump into action. However, they were under a long time (sixteen hours!) and only have four hours until the full moon.
After sacrificing his alpha status for his sister, Derek remains in a weakened state leaving him vulnerable to Kali’s revenge.
Ethan comes to the gang for help – he needs Aiden and Kali stopped before they kill Derek. Ethan and Lydia then warn Derek who then flees with Cora under guidance from Peter. However Kali is not happy that Ethan has warned them and just as she is about to exact her anguish on Lydia…
… Jennifer jumps in.
I don’t think I’ve ever been more afraid of a female who can wield sharp objects since Willow in Buffy or Carrie in Carrie. Dang, Jennifer can really bring the scary.
And she kills Kali with no hesitation.
And then kills the Ethan/Aiden monster combo.
While this is going on Scott, Allison, and Isaac run to Allison’s to find things for the boys to hunt their parents down with and run into Scott’s father.
Luckily Allison can pull an old school Batman move and do the whole smoke-and-mirrors disappearing act.
With everyone dead, Jennifer puts the attention onto Lydia, who starts to scream.
Lydia’s scream prompts Derek to turn back and return to his loft where he find Jennifer who persuades him to help her (and thereby help Scott).
Isaac and Allison find the parents… but sinkholes start to form around the Nematon.
Jennifer keeps an eye on the time until she has fifteen minutes to kill Deaucalion.
However Deaucalion lays the smack down on that idea and goads Scott to kill Jennifer. Scott has a choice: kill Jennifer to save his parents (and thereby killing his chances of becoming an Alpha) or not kill Jennifer and preserve his wolf-manity.
When Scott rebukes the offer to kill (he can lean on his pack to save the guardians), Deaucalion tried to force his hand to kill… but then Scott blinds the blind man and buys enough time for the lunar eclipse.
The root cellar is looking like it is precariously ready to implode on itself.
When given enough time, Jennifer boots up with her game face on. The werewolves lose their power and when Jennifer is about to kill Deaucalion, Derek stops and gets her to heal his eyes so he can know what he did to her face.
Unfortunately the healing has weakened Jennifer (as Derek predicted) and he tells her that she needs to let the parents go. “My mother told me that I can be a predator, but not a killer.” Angry, Jennifer begins to fight Derek and Derek takes it, because his heart is pure. Jennifer then makes the decision to kill Derek except her fifteen minutes of the lunar eclipse are up.
Jennifer creates a protective circle around herself but Scott breaks through, using his sheer will, making him a True Alpha.
Scott tells Jennifer to let the parents go or he’ll kill her too and that he doesn’t care what colour of his eyes are. Fortunately Deaucalion kills her for Scott.
After everything is said and done, Derek and Scott let Deaucalion go under the specific instructions that could be a man of vision again (or else).
In the aftermath, Allison proposes that she wants to learn how to be a better fighter with her father, under a new code. The Argents are back.
Derek and Cora leave for awhile.
And Scott watches his friends at school, finally happy again, despite having a heart of darkness.
Isaac and Allison… foreshadow?
Meanwhile, Jennifer crawls back to the Nematon for strength.
But before she makes it to heal, Peter stops her. Jennifer then realizes that now that Scott is an Alpha, he can steal his powers back after losing his Alpha status. Peter than bellows, “I. Am. The Alpha. I’VE ALWAYS BEEN THE ALPHA!”
Keep it locked here on MUCH guys. That. Was. Incredible. We can’t wait for the second half of Teen Wolf when it premieres later this year.
