To celebrate the release of their album Heartthrob, due in stores on January 29 (but available right now in our First Spins section here), Tegan and Sara have been interviewing some of their favourite heartthrobs. In addition to chatting with Pitch Perfect’s Skylar Astin, the women also did some deep digging with Glee star Cory Montheith. The duo explain on their site how they know the famous actor, saying:

We met Cory for the first time when we were recording our 6th record Sainthood back in 2009. Ted, our guitar player of 8 years, is old friends with Cory from growing up in Victoria, BC, and invited him to the studio. Cory was living in LA shooting a new show called Glee. Glee had not aired yet and so Cory wasn’t already a famous Heartthrob, but we knew after an hour of talking with him that he was destined for great things. The three of us (Ted, Sara and I) could not have been more excited or proud when the show became a massive hit. Even though it’s been four years and Cory’s a giant mega star Heartthrob, he is still the nicest guy you’ll ever meet. We were honoured to interview him for our Heartthrob series.
