Stop resisting the urge to procrastinate. It’s okay. Top doctors (like me) agree that sometimes, you just need to turn your brain off and surrender yourself to the dimly lit mid-belly of the internet (you know that space between like, Encyclopedia Britannica and um… whatever the dark underbelly of the internet contains? I wouldn’t know because I’ve never so much as clicked on a sketchy pop-up in my life…*shifty eyes*)
So, whether you’re bored at work, need a break from studying, or just want to impress your Tweeps with your mad ‘finding-funny-shite-online’ skills’, say HALLO to single topic photoblogs: Super entertaining crowd-sourced websites dedicated to one specific topic or theme. In other words, hours of free entertainment (if you’re into laughing at weird stuff, eff-ups, and poor decisions made by other people)
Here are ten that you should check out RIGHT MEOW:
10. We Have Lasers!!!

Remember picture day back in elementary school? Of course you do – and if you grew up in the 90s you probably remember begging your mom to shell out an extra $4.00 for that sweet laser background on your order form. Still got that Grade 4 mug-shot kicking around? Go raid Grandma’s photo album and send it to Laser Portraits, or just creep through hundreds of the cheesiest dang school photos you ever did see and laugh and laugh and laugh…
9. This is Why You’re Fat

Behold the most deliciously artery clogging food creations in the universe – Upside Down Mac & Cheese Pizza, Chocolate Covered Bacon Maple Donut Bars, Chicken Nugget Pie and, a personal favourite, The Bodybag: “Three hamburger patties, ham, salami, cappicola, pepperoni, provolone, american cheese, two eggs, french fries, coleslaw and hot sauce, on a whole loaf of Italian bread.” I think I just puked in my mouth a little bit. But that’s okay – ‘cause my stomach was filled with this. Vomalicious, Mmmm. (Too much? You know I’m jk)
8. Stop making that duckface !

Don’t be surprised if you stumble upon a picture ripped from the facebook profile of… every high school girl you know. This site manages to be enraging and amusing at the same time. (note: I must admit that I am guilty of making “the duckface”, but have refrained – for the most part – from this act of extreme douchebaggery since Myspace stopped being cool in like, 2006.) *hangs head in shame.*
7. The English Fail Blog

“The Best FAIL Pictures of the English Language” – think Jay Leno’s “headlines” but bigger, and less wholesome (thus much MORE funny).
6. Awkward Family Photos

‘Nuff said.
5. When I Had Braces

A photoblog dedicated to the orthodontically challenged. Whether you rocked train tracks for FOUR-AND-A-HALF hideous years (*cries a river*) or were born with perfectly straight pearlies (bitch), you’ll appreciate the hilarious captions and probably feel a whole lot better looking after cruising through this blog.
4. Pets who want to kill themselves

Be prepared to “OMGEEE!!!” and “AWWW!!!” yourself to tears. Be prepared for roommates/family members/stodgy librarians to tell you to STFU with your “OMGEEE!!!”s and “AWWW!!!”s. In this humble blogger/crazy-cat-lady’s opinion, there is nothing finer than pets in costumes.
3. Sexy People

“A celebration of the perfect portrait”. Seriously fahcking awesome. Seriously. If you like Laser portraits and Akward Family Photos, you’ll LOVE Sexy People. Go now and check out portraits of sexy people like Geoff! But don’t even think about contacting Chad. I’ve got dibs on that…
2. Look at this f***ing hipster

A veritable cornucopia of thick rimmed glasses, skinny jeans, purposely hideous $300 haircuts, ironic moustaches, condescending “cooler than you” sideways glances, and neon… everything!
1. People Of Walmart

The single greatest use for cell phone cameras EVER. This blog is constantly updated with new candid photo-snipes of real Walmart shoppers, and let me tell you, they’re gems. True, True gems.
Annnnd because I don’t know when to stop – honourable mentions go out to the following blogs (in no particular order):
cakewrecks,
men who look like old lesbians,
dork year book,
lovely listings,
my parents were awesome, and
sketchy santas.
I’ve just given you an infinitely renewable prescription for MAXIMUM HILARITY, so go have some fun! And make sure to email us if you happen to get your photo posted on any of the above websites. Then we can brag to our friends about how we know somebody who’s famous on the internet.
Make Dr. O’Nizzle proud, kids.
