January 9th, 2012

…fourteen years later! Most famous for helming the best-selling female duo ever – 1998′s “The Boy Is Mine” – rhythm and blues singers Brandy Norwood and Monica Brown haven’t made many headlines in the 21st century – except to say that they’re jumping into the recording studio again for 2012!

Over the weekend, the two singers met up in Miami, Florida to being working on a new track together. Brandy then instantly turned to Twitter to share the news with fans, and even admitted her voice was not up to par.

Wonderful night in the studio! I wasn’t 100%, but I gave it my all and it turned out great! Just a little more raspy than normal… I love you so much Mo. Thank you!” she tweeted. Monica followed suit and tweeted a pic of the pair with the message “We have Both Been Blessed Beyond Measure..14 years later… Love.

Most famous from the mid-nineties, Brandy (popular tracks: 1998′s Have You Ever, 1994′s I Wanna Be Down) and Monica (popular tracks: 1995′s Don’t Take It Personal and 1998′s Angel Of Mine) the pair won a Grammy for their song “The Boy Is Mine“, a musical cat-fight about two girls fighting over actor Mekhi Phifer, accompanied with an INCREDIBLY AWESOME video. Since then, Brandy has served as a judge on America’s Got Talent, as a contestant on Dancing With The Stars (she finished fourth), produced her own reality series Brandy & Ray J, and was injured in a highly publicized car accident in 2006. Monica has continued to produce music, most notably charting with Missy Elliot on the track “So Gone” in 2005, and has also produced a reality series Monica: Still Standing and served as a mentor on The Voice with Cee -Lo Green.
