January 31st, 2014
So the other day I was telling my friend that I’m going to visit some family in San Diego and she was like, “Which of course in German means a whale’s vagina” and I was like, “That is so 2004.” Just joking, that didn’t really happen. But it could have happened, right? Anyway, today we reached the end of January and I can’t believe we’re already well into 2014. It got me thinking about what was going on 10 years ago. Remember Napoleon Dynamite? And Uggs? That was all 2004. Take a trip down memory lane with some more vintage moments…
The Facebook launched 10 years ago. Remember when it was called The Facebook? Good times.
Two of our favourite shows ended :(
Laguna Beach started and for the first time we didn’t feel the need to live in California. Or maybe we did…
Britney Spears married Jason Alexander and Kevin Federline.
But everyone wished it was that Jason Alexander.
2004 was great for wardrobe malfunctions.
And for hoedowns.
Can you believe Kanye West released his debut album, The College Dropout 10 years ago?
Usher had a big year with Confessions.
We were all singing Outkast’s Hey Ya.
And we couldn’t get this song out of our heads.
We spent 2004 crying over this movie.
And reflecting and listening to The Shins because of this movie.
We were all quoting Anchorman.
And Napoleon Dynamite.
And Mean Girls.
2004 had some bad fashion trends too. Like Uggs.
And trucker hats. We can thank Ashton Kutcher for that.
And we all loved J Lo, which meant we all wore matching velour track suits.
2004! What a year!
