That’s right Ryan, NYC is certainly celeb sighting central. We used to have such frequent celeb sightings at my old office there in Soho that we kept a disposable camera by the front door to take out for possible lunchtime sightings. One day, I took the camera with me and was walking down West Broadway Street, when who do I see coming towards me but Gwenyth Paltrow. Of course, I had just gone shopping (when in Soho…) so, saddled with a bag in each hand, I stood stunned, unable to grab the camera out of my pocket in time to snap a pic. Damn.
In my old neighbourhood of Greenwich Village there were certain recognizable faces I’d see all the time, including rock icons Patti Smith and Lou Reed (he’d always be riding around on a bicycle), as well as Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth. I’d also frequently spot downtown ‘it’ couple Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, and it was always a thrill to bump into one of my favourite people on the planet, comedienne/actor Janeane Garofalo. She took her dog to the same dog park as I did. :)

I don’t think I’ve actually had any major celeb sightings in Toronto. I guess I’m not looking hard enough. They gotta be around with all the film shoots in this city.
