The Best Of Electric Circus Dancers

The other day I was doing some ‘research’ and came across some montages of 1990s era Electric Circus. This really brings me back to the days when the crowd outside MuchMusic/Citytv on Friday nights was ridiculous – not quite Jonas Brothers-esque but definitely Marianas-worthy.

In the mid-90s I used to tune in every week to watch the same dancers and to see who’d made it onto the EC Countdown. My sister and I had nicknames for every recurring dancer on the show and could impersonate their dancing on a whim (note to self: digitize all those VHS tapes!). I wonder if someone brought EC back for just one season, maybe just one episode, how it’d do today. Would you watch an hour and a half of dancing interspersed with music videos?

Check out this montage of dancing EC girls that someone put together, clearly using clips circa 1995 (look at all those cutoff tops paying homage to Gwen’s style in Just A Girl). The song playing during the video is Robyn‘s Do You Know (What It Takes).
