The Best Of Hip-Hop in ‘07

Ok so here’s the best Hip-Hop videos of the year according to me (in no particular order) … if you don’t agree, feel free to add your own list to the comments or just make fun of my choices.

Kanye West - Can’t Tell Me Nothing
The rumours say this was a response to Beanie Sigel’s comments about Kanye’s fashion choices. For all the smack talk Kanye gets thrown at him he comes back 100 times harder and doesn’t even need to call names. Probably for the best cuz Beanie is scary as hell.

50 Cent - I Get Money
50’s Curtis had a slow start. All the singles were being forgotten as they were being released, and nothing was going according to plan. That is until he dropped “I Get Money” and incinerated everything in his path.

Point Blank - Born And Raised In The Ghetto

I’m going to say this is the best video of the year. It shows just how nicely government plans can sound before they happen and how bad they can turn when problems are ignored. 2008 will be a big year for this group so stay tuned.

UGK f. Outkast - Int’l Players Anthem (I Choose You)
Kanye West said this video was better than “Stronger“. I agree. And anything where both members of Outkast rap (is Andre rapping? - I say yes) is worthy of a spot on this list. Not to take away from UGK (R.I.P. Pimp C), they have always been solid and have one of the best hip-hop albums of the year with or without Outkast.

J.B. f. The Game - Fire In Ya Eyes
J.B. came out strong for Canada when he took The Game and put out one of the biggest videos on MuchMusic this year. And if you’re wondering why The Game isn’t in the video, I heard a rumour saying he wasn’t playing nice with other rappers and J.B. didn’t want to promote the negativity - it’s all love in Canada man.

Twista f. Pharrell - Give It Up
This is what happens when you take fast lyrics, way too much money and cereal boxes and put it all in a blender. Between this and Kanye, swagger was taken to new heights in ‘07.

Jay-Z - Roc Boys (And The Winner Is)
Jay-Z came out of retirement! Wait, how many times will he come out of retirement and does that really even count? Anyway his last retirement was not good. and if you’re going to anger every artist on the label you run by becoming an artist yourself than you might as well put out good videos like this one.
