The Big Jingle Super Fan shares about her MuchCloser experience

The forecast called for a flurry of excitement when MuchCloser member Rebecca won wristbands to Much’s The Big Jingle earlier this month (watch it again here) and not only did she get to see her favourite artists perform, she got to meet them!

I had an unreal time as The Big Jingle Super Fan contest winner! When MuchMusic called to tell me I won, I didn’t believe it. I couldn’t believe that I had won two plane tickets from Vancouver to Toronto, two nights stay at a nice hotel, five hundred dollars spending money and two tickets to The Big Jingle! When we got to the concert we were then surprised with front row tickets and full access to the MuchCloser lounge with complementary drinks and snacks.

Being there in person was an incredible experience. Seeing music live is so different from listening to a recording. There was so much energy and enthusiasm. Overall it was an amazing event. The Wanted were my favorite because they are cute and have great accents.

The surprises didn’t end there. We got to meet almost every artist that performed!!! After every performance we were escorted backstage to meet the performers. We got to meet Shawn Desman, Carly Rae Jepsen, Bridgit Mendler, and Cody Simpson!!! When we met Sky Blu we were the only ones there and we got to talk to him and learn all about how he films his music videos! He also gave us autographed t-shirts! When we met Austin Mahone, I was surprised by how sweet, humble and shy he was. Meeting Simple Plan was another highlight. They were chill and nice! They even recognized us from the front row and hung around after the performance to talk to all their fans. The end of the concert was by far the most exciting because my friend and I ran up on stage with The Wanted! We were on stage while they were singing!!! It was something I will remember for the rest of my life!

I never thought I would win when I entered the contest, and getting the call was the start of an adventure. I am so grateful to Much Music for the opportunity to see all of these talented musicians and meet them! I made so many memories at The Big Jingle that I will look back on forever.
