The Cure: Live @ the ACC

I’m not a huge fan of huge venues such as the Air Canada Centre but I couldn’t resist the opportunity to see The Cure live. The Cure, in my books, is classic and “un-categorize-able.” They were one of the first “alternative” bands to have chart and commercial success and their sound has influenced many of the bands we know and love today. Anyone love Interpol’s Carlos D? Blame The Cure’s bass player, Simon Gallup!

The Cure has been around for a while (since the 1970s) and has released 12 albums over the years. In order to continue work on their 13th album (set to release September 13th 2008), their Toronto show originally scheduled to be in September 2007, took place last night. It was absolutely worth the wait.

Instead of just playing their lasted works, the night was a mix of everything, including all their hits. When it’s a band like The Cure, all the hits are more then all you need!
