Alicia has accepted the job to tour with Usher and gives Nick and Eddie a heartfelt goodbye before packing up her Mini and hitting the road.

Nick doesn’t have much time to dwell on his friend leaving after receiving a phone call inviting him to interview for a position as a writer on a talk show. Nick’s dream offer goes from bad to worse when he gets to the interview and finds Sabrina, his one-night stand who accused him of stealing her material also going for the job.

In Nick’s world when it rains it pours, and that means that the host of the talk show is none other than the very funny Paul F. Tompkins, who finds Nick to be anything but funny. Faced with the task of making a stone faced Tompkins laugh, Nick opens the door to the waiting room and asks Sabrina to describe their night of mediocre sex. She comes through with a bang (pun intended) and Nick leaves the interview, thinking he’s blown his chances yet again.

Thankfully, Paul F. Tompkin’s partner Scott takes a liking to Nick and offers him the job. Not so thankfully, Nick will be sharing the writing credit with Sabrina. Yay?

With Eddie wanting $400 more for rent from Nick now that Abby is living with him, she’s relieved to know she finally has an acting job on a film. Sorry, had an acting job.

The film has been put on hold indefinitely, but her agent has managed to get her an audition for Saying Grace, a religious show about a family of Christians. Of course, Abby dresses modesty for the audition. Scratch that.

Abby doesn’t moderately well in the audition, but the main actor, played by Alan Thicke, is not impressed with attire. Actually, he calls her a prostitute. Hollywood is mean, y’all. Abby pulls out a stellar good bye and even throws in a Psalm. I understated you, Ms. Vargas.

With no movie and probably no religious show, Abby is desperate to make rent and offers to fill in for Eddie’s cleaning lady.

After setting his house on fire at the end of Season 1, Connor spends a quiet morning at home, watching the rest of the frame turn into embers. Ya, he’s stable. Looking for comfort, Connor heads to The Lux to look for Raquel, who is in the middle of practicing telling the father of her child that she’s pregnant. I’m assuming it’s Connor. At least her kid will be good looking. Hopefully it will have an Aussie accent, too.

Connor wants to get drunk and have sex, but a secretly pregnant Raquel realizes that she needs to have a more meaningful relationship with Connor know that she’s pregnant. The pair head for the hills and go for a hike at Runyon Canyon and Raquel tries to get to know more about Connor’s childhood, but is scared off when Connor shares a memory of his dad stabbing him in the hand.

Connor and Raquel try checking out tourist spots next, but Connor is quickly distracted by members of Scientology trying to recruit him.

Raquel leads him away before Connor can get too attached, but I bet we’ll be seeing more from the sect this season.

Back at The Lux, Connor hands over a wad of cash to Cam and Kevin and instructs them to get supplies for a party at the hotel, with Raquel close behind, looking on with displeasure.

After performing a flip off the second floor balcony into the pool, Raquel convinces a very drunk Connor to call it a night.

Back in her room, Connor, scared to be alone, asks Raquel to marry him. He settles for her just being his girlfriend and his new roommate. This hotel is going to take some serious baby-proofing.

At the end of Season 1, we saw Kaldrick almost beat Tariq to death after they were caught kissing in the studio. Kal’s lawyer wants him to pay Tariq off and pray that the police don’t find out, but Kal wants to try to find Tariq on his own. After a day of searching without finding his boyfriend, Kaldrick returns home to find Dynasty wanting to speak with him in public.

The record studio has security cameras and Dynasty has watched them. He knows that the relationship between Kal and Tariq was consensual and tells Kaldrick that he needs to make things right with Tariq or he’s giving the tapes to the press.

Dynasty and Tariq meet with Kaldrick and his lawyer later that day. Tariq only wants enough money to fly home to Montreal and to speak to Kaldrick alone.

When they’re left alone, Kaldrick begins to cry, while Tariq stays strong and signs the contract promising to not talk about Kaldrick. He also promises Kal that he’ll never speak to the rapper again.

Filled with grief, Kaldrick tries to drink away his pain and invites two women back to his house after a night out at the club. But when the women walk into the bathroom to join Kal in his Jacuzzi, they find him passed out on the floor after slitting his wrists.

After answering an ad on Craigslist, Simon drags his older sister Beth with him to a commercial shoot in Winnipeg. When the main star refuses to eat the yogurt on camera, the director gives eager Simon a shot.

He nails the commercial and the director is impressed, giving Beth his business card and telling her to contact him if the two ever find themselves in LA.

Simon and Beth get a ride home from one of the crew members, but we quickly see that their home consists of a car in a mall parking lot and their family is just the two of them. Sitting in the pouring rain in her car, Beth gives the director’s offer a second thought and points their car towards Hollywood. Will these two be the newest residents of The Lux? Watch Season 2 of The L.A. Complex every Tuesday at 9 pm ET to find out.
