Tonight’s episode of The L.A. Complex begins with Kaldrick’s terrifying memory of being chased by neighborhood bullies and having his father lock him out of the house to ‘teach him to be a man’. Disgusting. Kaldrick wakes up in the shelter where his father lives and works.

Kaldrick agrees to have breakfast with his father, but when Walter apologizes, Kaldrick doesn’t want to hear what he has to say. Later that day, Kaldrick finally agrees to listen to his dad, who apologizes for his past and promises to be a better man in the future.

Walter promises to stop contacting Kaldrick, but Kaldrick changes his mind after seeing that his father has changed and invites Walter to move in with him.

After losing the baby, Raquel doesn’t tell Connor why she’s upset. To make her day even worse, she’s beginning shooting on her new, terrible sci-fi film. Raquel is on set and the first rehearsal is actually the first and only take. The director is more interested in his iPhone than Raquel’s acting.

Raquel tries talking to the director about how to improve the film, but he shuts her down and simultaneously makes her feel horrible.

Connor has the premiere party for Critical Unit that night and even though he wants to take Raquel, he needs to take his ‘public’ girlfriend, Jennifer Bell. Connor is on his way to meet Jennifer and finds the insurance investigator assigned to his case waiting by Connor’s car. Connor’s statements about his house fire don’t add up and the investigator doesn’t think that Connor’s fire was an accident. This could be very, very bad. Connor shows up at Fred Segal so that he and Jennifer can pick out outfits for the premiere that night. Jennifer asks Connor to make their business arrangement more fun, but Connor tells her that he’d like to keep things professional.

Connor gets to The Lux in his suit, ready for the premiere, and Raquel asks Connor to take her with him. Raquel admits that Connor’s arrangement with Jennifer makes her unhappy and the two scream at one another. Connor ends things with Raquel, leaving them both in tears.

Connor and Jennifer arrive at the premiere and Connor decides to take their relationship from business to friendly.

Pushing Raquel out of his mind, Connor kisses Jennifer on the red carpet.

Raquel decides to numb the pain by getting drunk and then makes the worst decision of his life. Dressed up in her hottest outfit, Raquel gets behind the wheel and heads to Connor’s premiere, getting hit by a truck on the way and putting her head through her window.

Abby is on set of her incredibly annoying show and it seems that Brandon is picking up speed on his flirting with Abby. She tells him that she broke up with Nick and Brandon is supportive…a little too supportive. Brandon and Laura has separate apartments, but essentially live together. Brandon offers his place to Abby, but first he has to get his keys from Laura’s apartment.

At Laura’s apartment, Brandon decides to stretch out their hang out sesh and make lunch. Abby and Brandon are having a great time hanging out in Laura’s apartment until Laura comes home and finds them together on the couch.

This could be bad. Really, really bad.

But Laura isn’t jealous or upset. Nope. Instead, she’s ready for Brandon and Abby to be together…with her as well. WHAT THE WHAT?!

Nick is the first writer to arrive at the office, but unfortunately Nick missed the meeting at the bar the night before and didn’t know that the writing team has decided to go a different way. Nick has a meltdown in front of his co-workers and screams about his girlfriend breaking up with him. His breakdown actually works and the boss decides that it’s time for everyone to hit the bar.

Sabrina has her game face on at the bar and instructs the bartender (Lauren Toyota!) to make Nick’s drinks triples and her drinks virgins. Well played, Sabrina.

Nick realizes Sabrina’s game plan and suggests they all move to the to the nearest strip club, thinking Sabrina will be too uncomfortable to join them.

He’s wrong.

Nick walks into the bathroom at the bar and finds Scott doing a line of coke. Nick promises to stay quiet about what he’s seen, and to find Steve a brothel. Is there an App for that kind of information?

Nick and Scott hit up the brothel and Nick, as usual, is in way over his head.

Beth and Simon are running his lines for his two auditions that day and Beth is ecstatic that there is a possibility of money on the horizon. Simon notices that Beth skipped breakfast. It looks like they need these auditions to go well. At his first audition, Simon begins playing with another little boy, Tyson, and his mother, Paula, plays dirty with Beth.

She suggests that Beth get Simon a haircut and stylist and Beth rips her head off.

Simon and Beth run into Tyson and Paula at a restaurant after the audition and Beth apologizes, earning them both an invite to the table.

Paula begins asking questions and slowing starts to realize that Beth and Simon don’t have a lot of money. She offers to buy them dessert and things seem fine between the two women, but Beth has a meltdown when then see each other at the next audition and Tyson is in a suit after telling Beth that Simon didn’t have to dress up. Beth tells Paula that she has to let Simon borrow Tyson’s suit jacket or she will punch her in the face, but when the women turn around they see that the boys have already exchanged jackets.
