Anyone who knows me, knows I am addicted to foreign films. I have such a cinematic love affair with Pedro Almodovar, Wong Kar Wai, Alfonso Cuaron, Michel Gondry, etc.

It is my favourite category during the Oscars and I tend to get a little passionate about it to say the LEAST. This year I had seen most of the films. I thought I had the winner picked. No argument. Susanne Bier’s After the Wedding. It didn’t win. The Lives of Others won. I hadn’t seen it but didn’t believe it could be better than After the Wedding.

I just saw the winning film. And I would like to say, for the record, I was wrong. The Lives of Others is so beautiful. So well told without being heavy handed. By far the best film of the year! So if you want a cinematic treat, head over to the cinema and watch The Lives of Others. I hope you adore it like I do.
