The Luyas – “Fifty Fifty” (video)

Montreal’s The Luyas will soon be releasing their third record, Animator. Their video for “Fifty Fifty” is oddly grotesque, explaining why your mother always told you not to blow bubbles in your milk…it’s just gross. The song has a lot of pent up energy, fronted by a powerful beat, and the Luyas penchant for irregular instrumentation creates an interesting orchestral texture. For those with weak stomachs, I’d suggest you just listen and avoid looking directly at Jesse Stein whenever she picks up a little bowl.
