Are you sitting down, because this may be the best, or at least the groolest news you will hear all day, maybe even all week. The mastermind who brought us into the world of the Plastics, Tina Fey, has revealed some more hints to the Mean Girls musical adaptation.
Fey and her husband Jeff Richmond, who is composing the adaptation, told Vulture that they were “looking to do some workshops and readings during the course of this year, maybe during the summer and into the fall.”
But don’t expect to see anyone famous don a pink mini-skirt, Fey and Richmond are adamant on casting fresh faces. “I don’t think I can say Audra McDonald will play Cady. Hopefully we’ll find a young person who, at this moment, is still in college but will be making her way to New York as we write,” Fey said.
Richmond also revealed that there will be a song called “Fetch” and one dedicated to October 3rd, because everyone knows on October 3rd Aaron Samuels asked Cady what it is and thus the historic date should be immortalized in song.
The new details come a week after the cult classic celebrated its 10-year anniversary. And speaking of ten years later, Fey divulged what Regina George is doing ten years after her school bus accident. “She would be a really successful realtor,” she said.Tweet
