I’m the kind of person who tends to be honest and pretty intense in my personal life. I’d rather say something to someone knowing it will start a huge fight than let it go and die choking of a broken, stifled heart. Dramatic, I know. I tried to warn you.
Physical activities are always a good way to work out some of these aggressions I find, so I was excited about recently having been invited to judge a Pillow Fight League competition at Wrongbar. I’ve never played the sport (professionally) and was a little thrown off by the half-naked women and very excitable inebriated crowd… until the fights began, when I really got into it. The girls were wonderful (if not hilarious) and I couldn’t help partially disappearing into my thoughts.
I was never a hug WWF fan (except for those Hulk Hogan bendy dolls from the 80s), but I was always fascinated by the male soap opera – like politics and DRAMA that occurred with each wrestle match. The fan favorites…the fights, the hype and of course the villains. Turns out the Pillow Fight League has all these as well but I began to think of all of this as a metaphor for relationships. Think about how many relationships begin/end/function/flounder next to, or over pillows. It’s enough to make you want to cuddle up in get into it OR maybe just watch my favorite Pillow-esque music video courtesy of my favorite blonde bombshell… the way she was once was.
Enjoy your pillow fighting,
S
Ps: if you’re up for more pillow fighting…
