The ‘ab’ilicious singer has been quietly out of the music scene since his last album Confessions. Now, that he’s readying for his fifth studio album Realest, he’s easing himself back into our hearts with R. Kelly’s latest Same Girl.
If you were a fan Brandy and Monica’s The Boy Is Mine you might enjoy this little diddy. Though, I have to say my one and only beef with this video is that it plays out like a Sony commercial. There’s a fine line between a little product placement to a full-on commercial and unfortunately they crossed it.
OK, one video that is worth mentioning is the latest from Bedouin Soundclash Walls Fall Down. Simple concept but great execution. Taking the idea of a ‘wall-less’ room, Marc Ricciardelli sets the band in an ever-changing room. Though this idea has been done time in and time out (i.e. see Michel Gondry’s video for Sheryl Crow’s A Change Would Do You Good), the camera work is so subtle that you hardly notice that the band’s surroundings are changing. Great song, great video.
One thing I’m definitely a sucker for is a good ol’ black and white music video, so I was pleased to find out that the new Fall Out Boy video was shot that way. The Take Over, The Breaks Over is just one big ol’ party! No frills or gimmicks, it’s just a straight up good time.
So those are a few videos that caught my eye this week but to check out other new vids, head down to MuchAXS!
