Best Week Ever has some beef with Vanity Fair’s list of the 10 funniest Simpsons episodes of all time, and what they say is totally fair. I think that if you’re gonna make a list as ambitious as this, the end result must consist entirely of episodes that all Simpsons fans know, love and can quote endlessly. Don’t try to be diplomatic and include episodes from season 15 - we all [ok, all us Simpson geeks] know that any episode from season 6 will trump any episode - even the funniest - of season 15.

Anyway, I’m just pleased as punch that they include my top three episodes on their list:

1. Marge VS The Monorail (”I call the big one bitey!”)
2. Cape Feare [the one where Sideshow Bob is trying to kill Bart, so they move to Terror Lake] (”Use a pen, Sideshow Bob!”)
3. Krusty Gets Kancelled (”Oh, no! Bette Midler!”)

And rounding out my top 5, which has in no way been scientifically concluded nor well-researched:

4. Lemon Of Troy [the one where Shelbyville steals Springfield's lemon tree] (”Hey, it’s somebody’s attractive cousin!”)
5. Summer of 4 Ft. 2 [the one where Lisa makes friends at the beach house] (”Well, it beats doing stuff. Yeah, stuff sucks.”)

BIG Honourable Mentions:
- Simpsonscalifragilisticexpiala-d’oh-cious [the one with Sherry Bobbins] (”Just do a half-assed job”)
- Lisa’s Wedding (…ok, all my fave parts in this one are sight gags)
