Last night I had the chance to see Indie rockers The Spinto Band play Lee’s Palace with supporting acts Spiral Beach and Frightened Rabbit. The boys are on tour supporting their latest album ‘Moonwink’, which was released earlier this month. This was my third time seeing the guys from Wilmington, Delaware play and each time I came out of the venue feeling the same way; having the urge to create my own band. Side note: If I had the talent & ability to play in a band I probably would have started one after the first time seeing them!
Anyways, their energy and enthusiasm on stage translated to the crowd as they danced along to their catchy hits like Oh Mandy, Direct To Helmet and their latest single Summer Grof. I wasn’t too familiar with any of their new material but after hearing songs off their latest album I know it’s an album I need to pick up. Here are a few of the other tracks they played off their new album: Needlepoint, Later On and They All Laughed. They also played a bunch their hits from their debut album ‘Nice and Nicely Done’ which included Brown Boxes, Mountains and Late. These guys are fun to watch and is the type of band that you can sit back and enjoy even if you are unfamiliar with their material.
