The Strokes may be working on that highly-anticipated fourth album of theirs, but it might be delayed even further if frontman Julian Casablancas lives his dream.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, the baseball-lovin’ Julian shared that his dream may come true in writing a song for his home team, the New York Mets.
“I’m totally serious,” he said. “I have some ideas, I have to see if they like it. I’ve got a jar stuffed with songs, all these ideas that are just me humming into a recording device.”
If it were up to former Met and current Mets announcer Keith Hernandez (yes, the guy from Seinfeld and those Just For Men ads), he’d make it the team’s theme song.
“As a Strokes fan, I would get a kick out of hearing what Julian can do with the song,” Hernandez said. “It could be interesting and I am sure baseball fans, and especially Mets fans, would enjoy hearing it.”
In the interview, Casablancas also admitted that to produce a song for Pearl Jam is his ultimate goal. “That would be a dream, because I’m a fan,” he said.
