The Vampire Diaries are going back in time to the 1940s

It’s flashback time on The Vampire Diaries! Entertainment Weekly is reporting that vampire brother’s Damon and Stefan will be travelling from Mystic Falls in 2012 to New Orleans in the 1940s for a flashback scene, which will show the Salvatore’s dressed in GI uniforms. Damon and Stefan in uniforms? Ratings gold.

Previous flashbacks on the show have included showing the brother’s becoming vampires in the 17th century and a flashback all the way to the 13th century at the beginning of this season.

EW interviewed TVD costume designer Leigh Leverett about the episode, who shared that Stefan’s best friend Lexi will make an appearance during the flashback. The 1940′s scene will happen during Episode 8 of the current Vampire Diaries season and will air on MUCH on December 7th.
